The first thing that comes into our minds when we talk about guide dogs, is they help the blind who can’t carry out their daily routines on their own. However, little do we know that these guide dogs are not only trained to help those who can’t see, but also those who have seen too much in their lives. This ad campaign by The Royal Dutch Guide Dog Foundation (KNGF Geleidehonden), features a war soldier who has seen too many deaths and lived in constant trauma during his duty. Thus now he suffers from post traumatic stress disorder. The soldier sees an unpleasant dream and starts feeling uncomfortable in his sleep, only to be woken awake by his one friend that never leaves his side; his guide dog! Watch this commercial and tell us if you also felt guide dogs were only for those who couldn’t see?
