With the advent of social media no wonder we have found an escape from normal routine in life and looked forward to satisfying our egos, be it through sharing our status updates or articles and videos that we can relate to as symbols of self expressions.

Based along the same lines of social interaction, Coke introduced a campaign in 2009 known as ‘Coke Zero Facial Profiler’. The application allowed users to upload their pictures and depending on a  facial recognition software helped them discover complete strangers from the database who were their look alikes. The picture of the match found known as the digital twin could then be shared on Facebook and Twitter, in some cases people even ended up sending friend requests based on this discovery. The app became so popular that it attracted 150,000 users in it first month of launch. Here’s a picture of the Coke Zero Facial Profiler app result.
