John Lewis’ ‘Bear and Hare’ ad released for Christmas became one of the most talked about ad over social media after collecting over 212,000 mentions on Twitter and thousands of shares on Facebook and various other social media websites. This ad that won so many hearts, speaks about the beautiful bond of friendship shared between a hare and a bear, who never left each other’s sides, except for the winter time, that was when the bear had to leave for his cave to hibernate and thus he missed the celebrations of Christmas every year. However, this year the hare had a brilliant idea to make sure his best friend gets to celebrate the joyous occasion of Christmas just like all the other animals. And, the plan was to gift him an alarm clock, that would wake up the bear just at the right time! And so, the bear since then celebrated…

We have learned and preached about how important it is to give everyone a second chance, but do we also practice what we preach, is what this ad for Business in the Community aims to ask. The ad features an ex-offender who now wishes to turn over a new leaf by seeking for job opportunities, but who is ready to hear him out? This ad by Leo Burrnet Change makes use of the Youtube ‘skip ad’ button to show how easy it is to ignore ex-convicts seeking for job opportunities. As soon as you click on the button, the video is played over again and the applicant becomes more desperate to have someone hear him out. However, if you go through the entire video without clicking the ‘skip ad’ button, the applicant becomes more confident as he speaks about how he wishes to earn legally, and appreciates you taking out…

This TVC by Dulux makes you imagine a colourless world where colour was banned, everything you saw around was dull and boring. The law forced you to remain black and white every time you stepped out of your house, while every colourful thing was was taken in by the law enforcement agencies. Doesn’t it sound like a boring place to live in, right? But just as you would wish for, a revolution quickly took place and transformed the colourless world into a brightly lit colourful place to live. The revolution only came in when a few tin cans of Dulux paint were illegally carried in the city that steadily spread colour into the lives of the residents. Since then, Dulux became a known name in everyone’s lives and colour became a common sight! Cheesy but sweet.

When it comes to advertising alcoholic drinks, we have seen a number of unrealistic ads that mostly talk about how downing a glass of beer can make you a stronger person, and more attractive to women. However, this recent campaign by Jägermeister is a complete contrast to the typical adverts. Jägermeister’s ‘Journey to Surf’ advert features a bunch of professional surfers who are out in search of adventure and a perfect spot to surf. Fighting the harsh weather conditions, rough winds and bad infrastructures, yet cherishing some great moments together, they finally enjoy a perfect surf in the icy cold waters. Later, the friends together celebrate their journey with a shot of Jägermeister. Why I loved this ad was because, it portrayed no unrealistic powers associating with Jägermeister drinkers. In fact, the drink was merely shown as a product to celebrate success and great friendships. What do you think, realistic portrayals of products…

With the Godzilla movie just a few months away from release, the marketing campaigns for the movie has been kicking some higher records. A recent ad by Snickers, features a really cool Godzilla who is friendly, fun and amazing – but that’s only when he is not hungry. Hunger unveils the other and the much darker side of the cool and friendly Godzilla, and trust me, the hungry Godzilla isn’t a very great guy. Nevertheless, the only way to calm down this bad boy is by bringing in the hero, and the hero of this ad, is of course Snickers! Snickers chocolate bar knows exactly how to do its job and save the day! The crunchy nuts, rich chocolate and gooey caramel does the magic to fill in the tummy of the hungry and cranky old Godzilla, and once again he is back to being the same cool, funny and…

The first thing that comes into our minds when we talk about guide dogs, is they help the blind who can’t carry out their daily routines on their own. Extra’s Origami ad is a heart touching commercial that features the emotional bond shared between a father and daughter. This beautiful campaign shows how little things that your parents do for you make a huge part of your childhood. The ad starts featuring by a man with his daughter, sharing Extra gum and creating origami cranes with the foil paper. And so, this tradition of the father making origami cranes for his daughter continues every time they share an Extra gum together at the beach, at a birthday party, and basically every time a laughter was shared or a tear was shed. In the end, the ad shows how this little practice created a huge connection between the both and undoubtedly created some great memories too. Watch this wonderful ad campaign, we are sure you too are thinking of one beautiful moment that you shared with your parents that will…
